Justin Thomas in throwback to classic Open era attire

Justin Thomas is channelling classic looks of Van Phillips and Ryan Moore by going black-tie for the first day of The Open.
The 24-year-old American is renowned for his outlandish dress sense, often donning colourful trousers when travelling around on the PGA circuit.
But Thomas is smartening up for The 146th Open at Royal Birkdale, literally, by modelling the more formal attire worn by the likes of Phillips and Moore, among others, and believes he can "rock" the look.
Claude Harmon III, coach to big-hitters Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka, praised the bravery of Thomas in wearing more quirky clothes on the course, believing it 'suits' him.
"I think we're in a cool time with clothes and a bunch of the young guys express themselves through the stuff they wear," he told Sky Sports News.
"JT has always got some cool clothes, he gets a lot of grief from some of the players when he comes up.
"He and Billy Horschel are the ones that wear these kinds of crazy, outlandish pants. I kind of like it. I think it's kind of cool to have a little bit of a throwback, he'll rock it pretty cool."
