Jason Day admitted that he does not "deserve to win" The Open after carding four bogeys on the back nine during his third round at Royal Troon.
The Australian looked in a position to put pressure on those at the top of the leaderboard having made four gains to go out in 32 on Saturday morning but bogeys at 10, 12, 15 and 18 meant he had to settle for a round of 71 to stay at one over.

Day argued that a fast start was needed given the position he was in but was frustrated at letting it slip after turning for home.
"That's kind of what you need to do there, especially being so far back," he said of his aggressive approach to the front nine.
"I was thinking if I could get to four or five-under for the day, that would definitely be closer to the lead depending on how Phil and Henrik and all those guys play.
"I was thinking if I get four or five, that would be very close, and then that gives me an opportunity for tomorrow. Unfortunately four bogies on the back side, I mean, if you're playing golf like that, you don't deserve to win."
Indeed, while he admitted that the course at Troon was challenging, the World No 1 felt that there were chances out there for the players.
"It's tough," he added. "It's a tough golf course but there's definitely a lot of opportunities out there. If you're playing well, you can give yourself the opportunities."
Justin Rose was left disappointed his scorecard failed to reflect how well he was swinging his clubs the club at Royal Troon.
The 35-year-old lamented his bad luck in tough conditions. The former US Open champion felt he had required a touch more fortune on a blustery course and things might have gone his way.
"I played really well all week to be honest," said Rose, who ended the third-round with a score of 70 to leave him two-over-par for the tournament.
"I felt that I haven't got out of a round all week how I felt I played so that always just leaves it slightly sour, but I'm feeling good about my game which is the exciting part."
