We take a look at the longest drive competition that took place to mark the start of the 97th PGA Championship.

Competitors at the 97th PGA Championship teed it high and let it fly at the traditional long drive contest on the eve of the tournament at Whistling Straits.

The light-hearted clash of the big hitters raises thousands of dollars for charity, and the majority of the field were happy to take part - including Bubba Watson after he famously declined last year and hit a three-iron off the tee.

Martin Kaymer decided to take the Happy Gilmour approach in his quest for extra distance, but it was India's Anirban Lahiri who celebrated his second appearance in the event with victory thanks to a mammoth 327-yard drive.
