Charley Hull to star at Ladies European Tour's Buick Championship

Reigning European No 1 Charley Hull and world No 5 Shanshan Feng are part of a strong field at this week’s Buick Championship.

Hull has posted four top-eight finishes on the LET this season, most recently recovering from a slow start to finish tied-eighth at last month’s Lalla Meryem Cup.

The teenager tees off in a group this week alongside compatriot Melissa Reid and home favourite Feng, hoping to build on her recent displays.

“I enjoy China and I think this golf course looks really nice,” Hull said. “I’ve been playing really well but there are some good players here this week so I think it will be a good test.”

Feng heads to Shanghai as the highest ranked player in the field, with the defending OMEGA Dubai Ladies Masters champion having already won 12 professional titles during her impressive career .

“To participate on the Ladies European Tour in mainland China is a rare opportunity,” Feng, an ambassador the tournament sponsors, said. “I’m very happy to be able to come to the Buick Championship this year to participate.

“This is my first game of the season domestically, but also my first international professional tournament played in Shanghai, so I’m very excited and looking forward to it.”
