Mallorca Classic: 6 to watch

It's the penultimate event of the 2007 schedule and skysports.com picks six players to follow at the Mallorca Classic.
The leading Spaniards will be out in force when the Tour arrives in Mallorca for the penultimate event of the 2007 International Schedule. Three of the four previous Mallorca Classics have been won by Spanish players, with former champions Sergio Garcia and Miguel Angel Jimenez both teeing-up for the fifth instalment. Last year's event was won by Swede Niclas Fasth, yet two home players still finished in the top-four. And the Spaniards should once again be the players to beat. The tournament is also the 'last chance saloon' for those trying to qualify for the Volvo Masters, with the top 60 in the Order of Merit earning invitations to Valderrama. The event also offers a final chance to those hoping to avoid November's dreaded European Tour Qualifying School by earning enough money to retain their Tour Card. The undulating Pula course should provide a stiff test, with water hazards coming into play on eight holes. And being an island venue, the layout is fairly exposed too. Jose Maria Olazabal, who has also won here, has spent much of the past three years over-seeing a course re-design at Pula.
