Rory McIlroy and Bubba Watson both found bunkers on the difficult Postage Stamp hole and both hit impressive escape shots

Rory McIlroy and Bubba Watson found bunkers on the difficult 'Postage Stamp' hole at Royal Troon but both demonstrated impressive escape routines, unlike Jordan Spieth.

Watson was in the right-hand greenside bunker in the second round of The 145th Open, a change to Thursday when he was in the left-hand bunker and made six at the hole.

This time, the two-time Masters champion did slightly better.

Although the bunkers were a little easier due to the rain, McIlroy was able to cut straight across the ball, carrying it over the down-slope and landing it on the flat. Perfect execution!

It was more hit and hope for Spieth with an ugly double bogey at the famous hole.

The ball did not make the green and ended up back in the bunker. Although he did manage to get it right eventually, Spieth had to settle for a five.
