American misses second consecutive event with knee problem

Lucas Glover has withdrawn from this week's Sony Open in Hawaii with a sprained right knee. The American injured his knee when he fell off a paddle board after arriving on Maui for last week's season-opening Tournament of Champions. He pulled out of that tournament, but was still hoping to play in the Sony Open because Waialae is a relatively flat course and easier to walk. However, the former US Open champion hit three wedges and a nine-iron on the practice range and realised his knee still was not ready. Glover is now set to return home and hopes to be able to play the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in a fortnight.
