PGA Tour players slam slow play after six-hour round at Torrey Pines

JB Holmes has been slammed for taking over four minutes to play a shot during the final round at Torrey Pines.
A number of PGA Tour players have heavily criticised JB Holmes for his painfully slow play during the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open.
Holmes was part of the final group at Torrey Pines alongside Ryan Palmer and Alex Noren, where the threeball took six hours to complete their final round on Sunday.
The American had topped the leaderboard until three consecutive bogeys from the 14th, leaving Holmes requiring a final-hole eagle to match Jason Day's clubhouse target.

After nailing his drive down the middle of the par-five fairway, Holmes took an age to deliberate with his caddie about the club selection for his second shot and eventually decided to lay-up.
More than four minutes passed before Holmes played his shot, which was pulled in to the rough on his way to a closing birdie, with several players turning to social media to criticise the unacceptable length of time taken to play the shot.
