As Tyrrell Hatton prepares to play with Phil Mickelson in the third round of the Masters, we look back at his frustration at being put on the clock in the final round of the WGC-Mexico Championship.
Hatton was unhappy that a tournament rules official decided to start timing the Englishman and Shubhankar Sharma, while the third player in the group - Mickelson - was deemed "exempt" from being accused of slow play.
The pace of play on the PGA Tour has been a hot topic since the turn of the year, with JB Holmes attracting widespread criticism for taking over four minutes to play his second shot to the final hole of the Farmers Insurance Open, while his group were clocked at more than six hours for their round.
The slow play issue resurfaced at the Genesis Open, where Kevin Na was involved in a social media spat with Kevin Pietersen, but the PGA Tour are now monitoring the pace of play more closely and have issued several warnings, although nobody has yet been penalised.
Hatton did actually find inspiration from being put on the clock in Mexico as he eagled his next hole - the 15th - to get into a share of the lead, but a bogey at the last cost him a play-off opportunity as Mickelson went on to edge out Justin Thomas and clinch his first win since The Open in 2013.
