Bill leaves no stone unturned in hunt for victory

Bill Lunde clinched his first PGA Tour victory after triumphing at the Turning Stone Resort Championship. Lunde fired a final round six under 66 to finish one stroke ahead of JJ Henry, who hit a closing 63, while overnight leader Alex Cejka fell back into a five-way tie for third place. Cejka, who signed for a level par 72, was two strokes behind Lunde alongside Jerry Kelly (64), Josh Teater (66), Michael Sim (66) and Billy Mayfair (69). Lunde was six under through nine holes after birdies at holes one, two, five, six, eight and nine. The one blemish on his round came with a bogey four at hole 11, but a birdie two at 16 secured a six under total and a 17 under par, 271 overall score. Henry threatened to triumph in remarkable fashion, having fired seven birdies and an eagle in his day-low round, one equalled by Jonathan Byrd, who finished in a tie for 10th. Henry carded birdies at holes two, five, eight, nine, an eagle at hole 12 and further birdies at holes 13, 15 and 16, but finished short. Cejka saw his hopes of a first PGA Tour title falter with two bogeys, a double bogey and four birdies in his 72. The German was one of five players who tied for third, with Richard S. Johnson (67) and Rory Sabbatini (68) in a tie for eighth. Byrd was joined in 10th by DJ Trahan (65), Steve Elkington (68), Charley Hoffman (69), Woody Austin (69) and Charles Warren (70).Lunde was six under through nine holes after birdies at holes one, two, five, six, eight and nine.
