Race to Dubai champion Tommy Fleetwood and Lily May Humphreys were among the golfers to scoop prizes at the 2018 England Golf Awards.

Fleetwood received the honour of 'Performance of the Year', having registered two wins on his way to ending 2017 as European No 1 and following it up with an early-season victory at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

The 27-year-old beat off competition from Alfie Plant, who featured in the Walker Cup and was silver medallist at The Open, and the English women's team which became European champions.

Humphreys was the other finalist, with the 15-year-old from Stoke by Nayland Golf Club taking the 'Rising Star Award' after winning five championships over the past 12 months.

Nick Pink, Chief Executive of England Golf, said: "Our finalists and winners are amazing and their stories deserve to be told far beyond the golf community.

"Behind them is a whole army of volunteers, coaches, clubs and counties who are also making a huge difference. We have an enormously exciting future ahead, with lots going on to change the image of the game."

Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club was awarded 'Championship Venue of the Year' after successfully hosting the English Women's County Championship, while Leeds Golf Centre was named 'Club of the Year'.

PGA professional Anders Mankert was also honoured as he won England Golf's Lifetime Achievement award.

"It's a huge privilege and a huge honour. It hasn't sunk in." Mankert said.

"This is recognition for a lifetime achievement, but I've enjoyed it. I can't say it's been hard work because it's hasn't. There are hard times where it's difficult but it's something that I've enjoyed doing so it's the icing on the cake. It's a huge honour and I'm very, very proud of this."
