Dame Laura Davies believes a strong performance from Team Europe in the Saturday foursomes is essential to stay in contention at the 2017 Solheim Cup.
Annika Sorenstam's side made an impressive start to the week by winning the opening session 2.5-1.5 in Iowa, only for the USA to complete a clean sweep in the fourballs to open up a commanding advantage.
The hosts had never previous won all four matches in a session and now take a 5.5-2.5 cushion in to day two at Des Moines Golf and Country Club, with Davies demanding a big morning on day two to bolster European hopes.
"We've got to make sure there's some blue out there," Davies told Sky Sports. "That's going to be our chance tomorrow, to just get on a wave and ride it.
"I think a 3-1 (in the foursomes) is an absolute minimum requirement and then a solid, at worst, 2-2 in the afternoon fourballs."
