Jon Rahm holes 150-yard eagle on his way to Irish Open victory

Jon Rahm holed out from 150 yards for an eagle-three on his way to Dubai Duty Free Irish Open victory.

Jon Rahm delighted the Portstewart crowds with a hole-out eagle on his way to a record-breaking victory at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open.

The Spaniard fired a seven-under 65 in wet and windy conditions during the final round, giving Rahm a six-strokes clear of nearest challengers Richie Ramsay and Matthew Southgate.

Victory was Rahm's maiden on the European Tour and also broke the tournament 72-hole record at 24 under, with one shot in particular standing out from his latest landmark performance.

Beginning the final round tied for the lead with America's Daniel Im, Rahm completed the opening three holes in regulation before storming clear with a special moment at the par-five fourth.

The 22-year-old was still 150 yards from the pin after his second shot but then saw his approach take a couple of hops and roll in to the cup for a timely eagle.
