Jason Dufner takes one-shot lead into final round of RBC Heritage

Jason Dufner takes a one-shot lead into the final round of the RBC Heritage, where Ian Poulter remains in contention.

Dufner eagled both of the par-fives on the front nine on his way to a six-under 65 at Harbour Town Links, edging ahead of overnight joint-leader Graham DeLaet when the Canadian bogeyed the last.

American duo Kevin Kisner and Webb Simpson head in to Sunday two strokes off the pace, with Poulter a further shot back in fifth spot following a two-under 69.

Beginning two shots adrift of DeLaet and Luke Donald, Poulter moved in to a share of the lead by birdieing three of his opening six holes and adding a kick-in gain at the par-four ninth.

The Englishman, who can secure his PGA Tour playing privileges with a top-12 finish this week, then double-bogeyed the next after finding water off the tee before failing to save par from eight feet at the 11th.

Dufner bounced back from an opening-hole bogey to eagle the next from 12 feet, before cancelling out a blemish at the third by holing out from 100 yards at the par-five fifth.

He bogeyed the seventh but then picked up back-to-back gains around the turn, before moving top of the leaderboard with a hat-trick of birdies from the 14th.

DeLaet three-putted the first but followed a front-nine 34 with a gain at the 15th to briefly move alongside Dufner, only to drop a shot at the last and slip in to second after failing to get up-and-down from the bunker.

One-time leader Simpson bogeyed the 16th and Kisner carded a bogey-free 66 to leave the pair on 11 under, as Poulter drained a 40-foot birdie at the 14th to get within three of the lead.

Donald sits four strokes off the pace alongside William McGirt and Wesley Bryan after a one-over 72, with Tyrrell Hatton up inside the top 10 following a blemish-free 68.
