Graeme McDowell took an interest in a Cart Cam during Sky Sports' coverage from the British Masters at The Grove.
While waiting to play his shot on the final hole of his opening round, the 37-year-old Northern Irishman had a one-way conversation with the motorised mobile camera.
McDowell had a genuine interest in the device and the 2010 US Open champion admitted: "I want one. It's great. You could have good crack with that."
And when asked what he would do with it, he answered: "Terrorise the dogs."
McDowell, who appears to be in jovial mood, posted an opening 69 to stand two shots off the pace set by Mikko Ilonen, Marc Warren, Tommy Fleetwood and Richard Sterne.
The 10-time European Tour winner hasn't tasted success on his home circuit for over two years, although he did win on the PGA Tour last autumn at the OHL Classic.
He failed to qualify for Europe's most recent Ryder Cup team and is the current world No 80.
