Neither side can break the deadlock at Adams Park
Gary Waddock's struggling Wycombe side claimed a valuable point against Carlisle in a stalemate at Adams Park.
Wycombe could have gone ahead after 13 minutes when Jon-Paul Pittman was put through by a good ball from John Mousinho, but his effort was saved by goalkeeper Adam Collin.
Adam Clayton went close for United 10 minutes later as he picked up the ball in a good position on the left of the area but his powerful strike found the side netting.
Ian Harte's curling free-kick just after the half-hour mark looked to finally have Chairboys keeper Tom Heaton beaten but it flew narrowly past the right-hand upright.
Shortly before the break the home side came close to a breakthrough when Matt Harrold connected with Dean Keates' corner but Collin saved well and Mousinho's follow-up header dropped just wide.
Substitute Stuart Beavon surged forward late on and laid the ball into the path of a well-placed Mousinho but he could only blaze wide to ensure the game finished goalless.
