Kenny Jackett picked up his first victory in charge of Wolves as they thrashed Gillingham 4-0 at home in League One.
Two goals from Leigh Griffiths and strikes from Lee Evans and Bakary Sako did the damage to leave Gillingham pointless andgoalless two games into their return to League One. Griffiths gave Wolves the perfect start after five minutes when he collected a pass from Sam Ricketts before scoring his first goal for the club with a low left-footed drive from the edge of the area. Scotland international Griffiths then inadvertently turned provider in the 26th minute when his deflected shot fell kindly for Evans who was able to poke the ball beyond goalkeeper Stuart Nelson from six yards. Sako set the seal on a dominant first-half display after he was left unmarked 12 yards from goal to convert a Zeli Ismail cross in the 31st minute. Griffiths grabbed his second from the penalty spot in the 68th minute after Evans had been fouled by Leon Legge. Gillingham toiled with no reward - the closest they came to a consolation was when Danny Kedwell saw his long-range drive flash over the bar.
