Port Vale slipped out of the play-off places after twice being pegged back in a thrilling 2-2 Sky Bet League Two draw at Walsall.
Vale first led after 12 minutes as Tom Conlon collected a short corner and whipped in a cross for Leon Legge, stealing in at the far post, to head home from close range.
Walsall were not behind for long, equalising three minutes later as Elijah Adebayo slotted into an empty net from six yards after Valiants goalkeeper Scott Brown spilled Rory Holden's tame shot.
Vale regained the lead after 36 minutes as Scott Burgess' 20-yard strike took a wicked deflection off Saddlers defender Dan Scarr to beat wrongfooted goalkeeper Jack Rose.
Rose tipped wide a sweeter-struck Burgess effort early in the second half and Walsall levelled after 58 minutes, Josh Gordon controlling Adebayo's cross and firing under Brown.
Both sides had chances to win it but Adebayo steered Gordon's cross straight at Brown from close range and Rose made a superb reflex save to foil Dave Worrall's half-volley for Vale late on.
