Wissam Ben Yedder's first-half goal secured Toulouse a 1-0 victory over Nice at the Stade Municipal. Ben Yedder scored with a nodded effort in the 34th minute having connected with a delightful cross from Martin Braithwaite. The match-winner almost got on the scoresheet in the opening minute after swooping on an error by the Nice defence. Ben Yedder collected the ball on the right of the area and unleashed a volley that was only inches wide, with goalkeeper David Ospina looking beaten. In the 10th minute, Ben Yedder once again tried his luck having been found by Etienne Didot, cutting inside and firing just the wrong side of the post. And it came as little surprise that the forward was then the man to break the deadlock when he jumped to get his head to Braithwaite's perfect delivery toward the box from the left. Nice might have had an equaliser just after the break, with Christian Bruls crossing toward Didier Digard, whose powerful shot was blocked by Ali Ahamada. On the hour mark, Issiaga Sylla, having been released inside the box by Didot, struck instantly at goal, with Ospina getting down to make a decent save with his foot. There was then a fine save from Ahamada in the 76th minute to keep out Digard's superb left-footed effort from Bruls' corner. Three minutes later Sylla found Ben Yedder unmarked and the frontman took his time before shooting, with Ospina managing to keep the ball out.
