Dire draw does little for Swindon or Crewe
A dire 0-0 draw at the County Ground on Saturday afternoon did little to help Swindon or Crewe's League One survival hopes.
The visitors settled quickly and dominated possession in the first half with Alan Sheehan and Gylfi Sigurdsson bringing fine saves from Swindon goalkeeper Phil Smith.
Crewe might also have taken the lead in the 32nd minute as Sheehan set up a glorious chance for Danny Woodards, who side-footed wide.
In the next attack Clayton Donaldson saw his advancing header from a Scott McManus cross fly just wide of the far post.
Swindon replied with a fierce drive from Hal Robson-Kanu before half-time but neither side deserved to be ahead.
The second half was dominated by Swindon as Crewe seemed content with a point. But despite several promising moves the hosts were unable to find the all-important goal.
