Jack Marriott bagged his 10th goal of the season to secure Peterborough a 1-1 draw at Southend.
The Shrimpers had seemed set to get back to winning ways when the recalled Marc-Antoine Fortune fired them in front at Roots Hall.
But Marriott's equaliser, 10 minutes into the second half, meant the game ended all square.
Southend went in front in the 10th minute when Fortune charged down an attempted clearance from Posh captain Jack Baldwin before bagging his first goal of the campaign.
After the break, Shrimpers midfielder Dru Yearwood struck the crossbar with a thunderous effort from long range before Posh equalised when Marriott fired home from close range.
Marcus Maddison was then denied twice in quick succession by Southend goalkeeper Mark Oxley, who then brilliantly denied Posh substitute Callum Chettle in the closing stages.
Southend also threatened late on with Theo Robinson firing a tame effort at Posh goalkeeper Jonathan Bond.
