Luke Moore's goal gave League Two side AFC Wimbledon a 1-0 victory at Scunthorpe in their FA Cup first-round replay on Tuesday.

After a goalless first meeting, neither could break the deadlock again in the first half of a tense game at Glanford Park. The Dons went close in the early minutes when a free kick from the edge of the box by Sam Hatton was turned away at full stretch by keeper Sam Slocombe. Scunthorpe, without a goal in five of their previous seven games, squandered their best opening in the 16th minute when striker Bobby Grant shot tamely at goal when well-placed. It was the home side who started the second half strongly but again Grant failed to capitalise on one good opening, while forward Andy Barcham saw a curling effort easily saved. But it was Wimbledon who broke the deadlock in the 65th minute when Moore netted the rebound after a shot from substitute Jack Midson had been blocked into his path in the box. Substitute Garry Thompson came close to an equaliser for Scunthorpe but his shot was tipped away. Wimbledon also had another scare when a deflected cross from Barcham bounced away of the top of the bar but the Dons hung on to earn their first win in eight games and a trip to Bradford in round two.
