Rotherham returned to the summit of League One with a 1-0 win over Ipswich in the top-of-the-table clash at the New York Stadium.
Richard Wood's first-half header was enough for Paul Warne's men to inflict a first defeat of 2020 on the Tractor Boys and climb above them in the standings.
It was a strong performance from the Millers, who hit the woodwork twice and deserved to win by a bigger margin.
They were the better team from the off and they could have taken a 10th-minute lead, but Kyle Vassell's effort thundered into the crossbar following quick thinking from Matt Crooks.
The hosts got their reward three minutes before the break when Wood was on hand to force home from close range after Norris had spilled Michael Smith's header.
The second half followed a similar pattern with Chiedozie Ogbene failing to make contact at the far post, Wood having another effort disallowed for a foul on Norris and Ben Wiles drilling wide.
They continued to search for a deserved second and with 14 minutes remaining rattled the woodwork again as Hakeem Adelakun let fly from 25 yards with a bending effort that struck the crossbar.
Ipswich finally stirred and forced Millers goalkeeper Daniel Iversen into his first saves of the match as Kayden Jackson scuffed a shot straight at him and then Luke Garbutt sent in a wicked free-kick.
They almost nicked a point at the death, but James Norwood's effort from an impossible angle hit the post and Rotherham survived.
