RKC are all but down and could be condemned to the drop over the weekend. However, they made sure their slim hopes of survival remained with only their fifth win of the season.
The home side went ahead as Calvin Jong-a-Pin put through his own net after just 13 minutes. Moments later and their lead was doubled when Dirk Boerrigter scored.
Into the second half and goals from Dustley Mulder and Benjamin De Ceulaer secured the win.
Vitesse grabbed a late consolation when Mulder scored an own goal with just seven minutes left.
