Dagenham and Redbridge recorded a fully deserved 1-0 win over a disappointing Port Vale side.
Port Vale's poor season continues
Dagenham and Redbridge secured their first win in seven games with a 1-0 defeat Port Vale side, who slid to their 11th home defeat of a troubled season.
The visitors were the more positive side in a very low quality start to the contest and made the breakthrough in the 25th minute as an unmarked Jamie Guy headed home Matt Ritchie's curling cross to claim his first goal for the club.
Louis Dodds almost equalised in the 42nd minute when his shot struck the bar, but that did not prevent the Vale fans from venting their frustration at half-time.
Dagenham twice came close to adding a second with man-of-the-match Sam Saunders firing narrowly over and Doug Loft forcing a terrific save from Anyon.
Vale hit the woodwork for a second time in the 77th minute when Kevin Gall's volley struck the bar with Tony Roberts well beaten.
