Port Vale v Aldershot preview

Team news for Tuesday's League Two clash between Port Vale and Aldershot at Vale Park.

Port Vale manager Micky Adams is likely to have an unchanged squad for the visit of the bottom-of-the-table Shots. After recording the club's biggest win for 53 years by beating Burton 7-1, Adams must decide whether to name the same starting XI or make changes. Adams had the luxury of being able to withdraw Lee Hughes, who scored a hat-trick against Albion, and Jennison Myrie-Williams before the midway point of the second half on Friday night after both players went into the game with knocks. The extra rest may see them retain their places, although Adams has Louis Dodds, Chris Shuker, Calvin Andrew and Ben Williamson, who came off the bench to score twice against Burton, in reserve. Rob Taylor will be assessed after an Achilles problem while Ashley Vincent, absent for almost a month with an ankle injury, could return for Vale's trip to Rochdale on Saturday. Relegation-threatened Aldershot could be handed a triple boost for their trip to the second-placed Valiants. Influential striker Danny Hylton has returned to training having missed the last five matches with a knee injury, while defender Troy Brown has rejoined his team-mates after spending the past seven weeks on the sidelines with a similar complaint. Goalkeeper Jamie Young has also recovered from a thigh injury which ruled him out of the 3-2 victory over Oxford on Easter Monday, but boss Andy Scott must decide whether the trio are fit enough for selection at Vale Park. Midfielder Aaron Morris will definitely miss out, however, having suffered cruciate ligament damage against the U's, the Shots' first win in seven matches. Aldershot, who were not in action at the weekend and now boast two games in hand, find themselves propping up the League Two table but are just two points from safety.
