Blackpool striker Mark Cullen scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at Sky Bet League One strugglers Plymouth.
Cullen struck in the 14th minute to earn Blackpool a second successive win and leave bottom side Argyle still searching for their first win of the league campaign.
Blackpool ended the game with nine men as referee Neil Hair sent off Marc Bola and Donervon Daniels in stoppage time.
Cullen soon broke the deadlock as he turned in a goal-bound strike from Harry Pritchard, who had met Nathan Delfouneso's cross from the left.
Graham Carey's rasping shot was well saved by Seasiders keeper Mark Howard in the 28th minute as the hosts tried to respond.
A few minutes later striker Freddie Ladapo's clever back-heel came back off the inside of a post and into Howard's receptive arms.
Argyle boss Derek Adams made a double attacking substitution in the 63rd minute with Ryan Taylor and Reuben Lameiras introduced.
It nearly worked a treat as Lameiras forced Howard to go full stretch to keep out his shot from the left.
Blackpool almost scored a second when John O'Sullivan sent a header just wide from fellow substitute Ryan McLaughlin's 78th-minute cross.
And the visitors held on despite Bola and Daniels seeing red following a scuffle in stoppage time.
