Three second-half goals saw MK Dons confidently brush aside Swindon 3-0 at the County Ground to probably end their rivals' automatic promotion prospects in Sky Bet League One.
A double from top scorer Will Grigg after a 60th-minute opener by Daniel Powell sealed the win for MK Dons, who might have put the game beyond Swindon's reach in the opening quarter-hour but for the heroics of goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, who pulled off a string of fine saves.
A frantic first half concluded with John Swift almost scoring for Swindon, who fell behind on the hour when Powell headed in after Foderingham had saved from Grigg.
Twelve minutes later MK Dons doubled their lead. The influential Samir Carruthers and Delle Alli were involved down the left, setting up Grigg, who rifled a left-foot shot into the far corner.
MK Dons, who have leapfrogged Swindon into third place, underlined their superiority with a third goal late on, Griggs scoring his 17th goal of the season after some sloppy defending by Branco.
