Oxford United reached the area final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy for the first time in their history with a 3-2 victory over Yeovil at the Kassam Stadium.
The U's will face Millwall in the two-legged southern section final in January, with the winners' reward being a place at Wembley.
Tuesday night's cup-tie between the top and bottom teams in League Two will long be remembered for a stunning debut goal from Oxford full-back Jordan Evans.
The on-loan QPR defender, making his first senior start, hit a 35-yard screamer into the top left corner after just four minutes.
Yeovil equalised after 37 minutes when Wes Fogden fired in off the left post from Ben Tozer's pass.
But Oxford regained the lead four minutes later when Josh Ruffels crossed deep from the left, and Callum O'Dowda cut in from beyond the far post to fire a low 12-yard drive under keeper Chris Weale's body.
U's striker Chris Maguire felt he should have had a penalty when he appeared to be pushed in the area as he shaped to shoot.
But moments later, Maguire did have some joy, smashing home a 15-yard shot in the 54th minute after a superb reverse pass by Alex MacDonald to make it 3-1.
Deep into stoppage time, substitute Shaun Jeffries fired a low angled shot past goalkeeper Sam Slocombe to give Yeovil brief hope, but there was no time left for them to get another.
