Second-half goals from Chey Dunkley, Chris Maguire and Callum O'Dowda earned Oxford a 3-0 win over Wycombe to clinch promotion to Sky Bet League 1 in front of a sell-out crowd.
Defender Dunkley slammed home a header from Maguire's corner to break the deadlock in the 53rd minute and after Kemar Roofe was shoved over in the box by Aaron Pierre, Maguire coolly sent goalkeeper Ryan Allsop the wrong way from the penalty spot after 72 minutes.
Substitute O'Dowda dribbled past two defenders and fired home from six yards to seal victory at the death.
Danny Hylton had two half-chances early on for Oxford, sticking out a leg to divert a corner just wide and then screwing a shot past the left-hand post after a jinking run.
But Wycombe were competing for everything in typical local derby fashion, and Danny Rowe fired over after snatching at his shot in a crowded area.
The U's stepped up the pressure, with Hylton turning Roofe's cross narrowly wide and Maguire going close with a 25-yard drive.
The home side dominated after the break, with Maguire twice going close and Liam Sercombe's shot deflected inches wide before Roofe had a volley saved.
In the end it was comfortable for Oxford, prompting wild celebrations at the Kassam Stadium.
