Exeter's winless run continues

Image: Stephane Zubar: Prevented a certain goal

Exeter are now without a win in seven games after playing out a 0-0 draw with York on Saturday afternoon.

In a game of few chances, a draw was a fair result with Wes Fletcher going closest to winning the game for York and Stephane Zubar kicking Exeter's best chance off the line. An even first half saw Bobby Olejnik make a fine double save to deny Exeter duo Liam Sercombe and Clinton Morrison before Alex Nicholls' low, goalbound 12-yard drive was cleared away by Zubar. Fletcher, meanwhile, saw his eight-yard effort saved by Grecians keeper James Hamon after he had been released through the right channel by Diego De Girolamo. York enjoyed the better of the second-half exchanges with Russell Penn forcing Hamon into a save from 20 yards and Fletcher heading over from a Marvin McCoy cross. Josh Carson also shot over after cutting in from the right and Michael Coulson's free kick was deflected off target. Exeter's only second-half attempt saw Sercombe shoot wide from 25 yards.
