Daniels strikes County winner

Billy Daniels made himself an instant Meadow Lane hero as he struck late on his debut to give Notts County a 2-1 victory over Crewe.
Liam Noble gave County the lead on the stroke of half-time, only for Jamie Ness to drive home a leveller moments after the restart. However Daniels, who only joined from Coventry on Thursday, climbed off the bench to steal all three points with a terrific volley. The visitors started brightly and could have taken the lead only for Nicky Ajose to miss two good chances. However the hosts grew into the game and were rewarded on the stroke of half-time when Noble's powerful drive was beaten out by Ben Garratt and Kwame Thomas was hauled down by Jon Guthrie as he went for the rebound. Noble took responsibility for the penalty and planted it into the bottom corner despite Garratt getting the faintest of touches. Ness drilled in the equaliser just 46 seconds into the second half as Crewe looked to stretch their unbeaten run to five games. However, Daniels had the last laugh with a fine strike before Noble was sent off for a second yellow card in injury time.
