Brendan Rodgers admits he is unsure where on-loan striker Fabio Borini is headed next season.
The Swansea manager is hopeful the 20-year-old will be playing for the Welsh side despite interest from numerous clubs, most notably Parma.
And while president Tommaso Ghirardi claims Borini will join the Serie A club, Rodgers remains confident of keeping the youngster at the Liberty Stadium, who has impressed since arriving on loan from Chelsea in March.
Rodgers said: "I spoke with Fabio last week and he is loving it here. I think it's going to be a case of waiting and seeing as far as his future goes.
"I know there's interest from Parma and I would expect interest from a number of clubs.
"But at the moment he is enjoying his football and his life here and we will review things at the end of the season. Until then, we won't know where we are."
With Borini's contract at Chelsea expiring this summer, the Italian has announced he will leave Stamford Bridge, although the Blues will demand compensation if he moves to another English club as he is under 24.
But whatever the outcome, Swansea know they have a definite possibility of securing his signature if they beat Reading in next Monday's Championship play-off final.
Victory
Rodgers said: "It is definitely not out of the question that Fabio will stay here. The most important thing for a footballer is being happy, and he is happy here.
"He enjoys playing for this club, as you see with his passion on the pitch.
"As a young player, the next couple of years are going to be important for him. There's no doubt he could go to a number of big clubs, but the question is how much will he play if he does that.
"Is he going to be a No.3 or No.4 striker, or does he want to be a No.1 striker who is playing games?
"I think part of the reason he came here in the first place was for me to help him. I have known him for a few years and I think he trusts me."
Meanwhile, Marvin Emnes has been linked with a move from Middlesbrough after a loan spell in the autumn but Rodgers remained tight-lipped about the possibility of the Dutch forward returning to Swansea.
Rodgers added: "I haven't spoken to Tony Mowbray. I know they may have to move some players on this summer and Marvin was a player we liked when he was here.
"But he is a Middlesbrough player at the moment so we can't speak too much about him unless I speak to Tony."
