Inter refuse to accept that the departure of their boss is inevitable
Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti claims there is no guarantee Jose Mourinho will be leaving the club.
It has been widely accepted for some time that the Portuguese coach will be on the move this summer.
Having endured a strained relationship with the Italian media during his time with Inter, and with numerous trophies in the bag, he was expected to call time on his reign at Giuseppe Meazza at the end of the season.
Victory in Saturday's UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich would enable him to end on a high and bow out in style.
A switch to Real Madrid could then be in the offing, with Mourinho having done little to distance himself from reports linking him with the Spanish giants.
Moratti, though, is adamant that Inter have not yet given up hope of persuading their illustrious coach to stay put.
"No, not at all," he told the club's
official website.

"Each one of us adapts to certain situations.
"He is free to do it (leave) because he's foreign, and there are many things to consider, but this doesn't mean he won't stay."
Having seen Mourinho reduced to tears after landing the Serie A title on Sunday, many are convinced that he is preparing his farewell speech.
Moratti refuses to buy into that belief, though, and insists it would be foolish to jump to any conclusions.
"We aren't forced to interpret everything in life," he said on Mourinho's show of emotion.
"It was a sign of great humanity and affection for the players and the fans. It was wonderful."
