Argentine striker gunning for World Cup glory
Carlos Tevez feels a World Cup winners' medal would be a welcome addition to his trophy cabinet.
The Manchester City striker has enjoyed a glittering career to date, with numerous titles already secured.
He has won domestic honours back home in Argentina, in the unforgiving surrounds of Brazil and in England.
He won the UEFA Champions League and Club World Cup during his time with Manchester United and claimed a gold medal at the 2004 Olympic Games.
Tevez, though, is refusing to rest on his laurels and is now hoping to lead Argentina to global glory in South Africa next summer.
"I won a tournament with Boca Juniors, I was a South American champion, I've won titles in the Premier League and have been a European and world champion at club level," the 25-year-old told
Football Punk.
"I was even an Olympic champion at Athens in 2004.
"What's left? Well, winning the World Cup with Argentina!"
Progress
Argentina's preparations for next summer's tournament continued on Saturday with a 2-1 defeat to reigning European Champions Spain.
Despite coming unstuck in Madrid, Tevez feels Diego Maradona's side did enough during that game to suggest that they will be among the contenders in South Africa.
He said: "We could have won. We played much better than at other times.
"Argentina are progressing and I'm sure we are going to arrive at the World Cup in good shape. The players have nothing to be jealous of Spain for."
