Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has backed Walter Zenga's credentials to succeed him at Giuseppe Meazza one day. Zenga, who spent 12 years with Inter as a player, has guided Palermo to fourth in Serie A this season after leaving Catania. Inter host Palermo in Serie A on Thursday and the game will go some way to revealing Palermo's potential title credentials. Mourinho likes Zenga's style of management and concedes that he would like the ex-Italy keeper to succeed him when he departs.

"Walter is a great friend of mine," explained Mourinho. "I like him because he doesn't worry about his image, he's original and he defends his team. "It wasn't crazy talk when he said he wants to win the title but a great motivation for his players. "It certainly won't be me who decides but I'd like it a lot if one day he took my place."
