Mancunian hit by another shin problem
Bristol City midfielder Brian Wilson has suffered a further injury setback after fracturing a shin bone.
The 26-year-old underwent a serious operation in March after suffering shin splints in both legs, but suffered the latest knock after a tackle in the reserves' win against Bournemouth on Tuesday.
City are sending Wilson for a second scan to determine the extent of the injury, but he is certain to face another spell on the sidelines.
"Everyone's gutted for him and it's been a difficult few weeks," manager Gary Johnson told the club's
official website.
"He suffered a bereavement in the family and now this has happened after only a couple of minutes playing in the reserves.
"The first scan showed up a fracture on his shin bone but we're going to get a second scan just to make sure.
"We need to help him because it's been a tough time for him."
The Robins take on second-bottom Peterborough on Saturday looking to climb into the Championship play-off places.
