Everton remain confident midfielder Steven Pienaar will stay at Goodison Park and sign a new contract. Skysports.com revealed earlier on Monday that the South Africa international had rejected a fresh deal with the Toffees after unsuccessful negotiations. Everton are eager tie their key assets to long-term contracts but Pienaar, who has two years remaining on his current agreement, has yet to commit. However, the Goodison Park outfit remain positive that the 27-year-old will soon put pen-to-paper on Merseyside. An Everton source said: "Everyone is still talking, and we are confident there will be a happy outcome."
