Sky Sports' survey to find the best player ever to wear a Sheffield United shirt is reaching a conclusion - and we would like you to get involved. We asked fans of each of the 92 English League teams and Scottish Premier League sides to nominate their all-time favourite footballers. Dane Whitehouse had his career cut short at United by injury. The local boy was subject to offers from bigger clubs after the Blades' relegation from the top-flight in 1994 but he turned down bids to remain loyal to the club. Did his regular goals against Sheffield Wednesday make him the greatest-ever Blade? Jimmy Hagan was the oldest player ever to play for the Blades and he scored 117 goals in 361 appearances for the club. Was he the greatest ever United player? Tony Currie was a midfielder in the late 60s and early 70s for United who racked up 313 appearances, scoring 66 goals. He was also made captain in 1974 and was idolised by fans. Was he the greatest-ever Sheffield United player? Brian Deane was snapped up for £40,000 from Doncaster and went on to make 198 appearances for the club, scoring 83 goals in his first spell at Bramall Lane. He was sold for a club record £2.9million to Leeds before re-signing for the Blades four years later. His second spell yielded 11 goals in 24 appearances. Did all of Deane's goals make him the greatest ever Blade? Players such as Alan Kelly, Joe Shaw, Keith Edwards and Phil Jagielka are also in contention.
