Revista's Guillem Balague explained why Manolo Jimenez's days may be numbered at Sevilla.
Stats mean little as Sevilla boss fights for job
Sevilla currently sit third in the Spanish league having enjoyed one of their best seasons to date.
Fifty points from 26 games represents Sevilla's second ever best set of stats at this stage of a campaign - so just why is their head coach Manolo Jimenez under pressure to hang on to his job?
Despite another win at the weekend, a 2-1 victory over Almeria, the club's top brass are refusing to talk publically about a new contract for Jimenez, with speculation growing that a number of high-profile names are being lined up to replace him in the summer.
Revista de La Liga expert Guillem Balague has been across the story all season, and he reckons the club's chairman Jose Maria del Nido simply doesn't think he is the right man for the job.
And the attitude of the fans is not helping his cause either.
"Basically Jimenez has got a contract until the end of the season," Guillem said.
"The chairman doesn't trust that he is the man to take Sevilla to win cups, which is essential for them.
"There are doubts about Jimenez's future, but also doubts about the people that will replace him too.
"We've mentioned Quique Sanchez Flores, we've mentioned (Michael) Luadrup and because there are so many doubts - and because there is so much negativity around Jimenez - the club has decided to take a decision on this when everything has come down at the end of the season.
"The fans don't like him, despite all those stats.
"It is clever to take this decision, but it seems they don't trust that this is the man for the job."
