Warnock - FA Cup not important

Stephen Warnock says the FA Cup means 'nothing' to relegation-threatened Blackburn this season.

Rovers defender focused on avoiding relegation

Stephen Warnock has revealed that the FA Cup means 'nothing' to relegation-threatened Blackburn Rovers this season. Rovers currently lie in the Premier League drop zone, with just eight points separating the teams in the bottom half of the table. Sam Allardyce's Blackburn are next in action on Saturday when they face Coventry City in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Main priority

Warnock, though, has conceded the side's main priority is to ensure they preserve their top-flight status. He said: "It may sound disrespectful but the FA Cup is nothing to us this season. "For the club, the Premier League is all that matters. If we win the FA Cup and go down it won't mean a thing. "The manager has already said that people's livelihoods are at stake. Jobs are on the line and that falls to the players."
