Striker to decide future next month
Marseille are the latest club to be linked with a move for Swedish star Henrik Larsson.
Larsson is considering his future at Helsingborgs with his current contract due to expire next month.
A number of clubs across Europe are believed to be preparing a move for Larsson if he does decide to leave Helsingborgs.
Marseille are in the market for a new striker and former Celtic and Barcelona ace Larsson is believed to be at the top of their wanted list.
Larsson's agent, Rob Jansen admits the 37-year-old will make a decision on his future at the start of January.
"The situation of Henrik has not been sorted yet," Jansen told
Aftonbladet. "A decision should be made in the first week of January."
Helsingborgs chairman Sten-Inge Fredin remains confident Larsson will remain at the club despite interest from other clubs.
"We believe that Larsson will continue to play for us next season," said Fredin. "We are hoping to get a definite offer by January 7th."
If Marseille fail to land Larsson they could turn their attentions to unsettled Inter Milan forward Hernan Crespo.
