Hoops hope Japanese playmaker will see out his contract
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has backed Shunshuke Nakamura to remain loyal to the club.
The Japanese playmaker continues to be strongly linked with a January return to his homeland, with Yokohama F-Marinos claiming to have already held discussions with the Hoops star.
The J-League side are reported to be preparing a £6million raid to take Nakamura back to the Far East.
Strachan, though, is confident the midfielder will see out the remaining eight months of his contract at Parkhead, helping the club's bid for a fourth consecutive SPL title.
"Knowing Shunsuke, he would not upset his team-mates, manager or coaches and I think he'd put the team before himself," the Celtic boss told the
Daily Record.
"I spoke to Shunsuke on Friday and he never brought anything up."
