Steven Gerrard joined an illustrious group on Wednesday after netting his 100th Liverpool goal.

Long-range super-strikes from the right boot of Steven Gerrard have become something of a regular occurrence for the adoring Anfield faithful. However, the England man's goal against PSV on Wednesday night did more than simply seal a comfortable 3-1 victory for Liverpool, as it also elevated the inspirational superstar into a star-studded club of players who have reached the 100 goal milestone for The Reds. Topping the list is striking legend Ian Rush who managed an incredible total of 346 goals for the Anfield giants in his two spells with the club.

Icons

While other Merseyside icons to make the list include the likes of Roger Hunt, Robbie Fowler, Kenny Dalglish and Kevin Keegan. Gerrard is currently tied with Keegan on 100 goals, a figure he will no doubt go on to improve upon, but the feat is all the more impressive considering that he is a midfielder rather than a striker.
