Sparky wants Premiership form to continue

Mark Hughes believes Robinho is recharged and ready to put Wigan to the test after giving him a short break to rest. The Brazilian star was rested in Manchester City's midweek Carling Cup exit which saw the Blues losing out on penalties to League One's Brighton. The £32.5million signing from Real Madrid was given time off after a hectic start to his Eastlands career which included international duty, domestic games and City's Uefa Cup first-leg victory in Cyprus against Omonia Nicosia. The forward has returned to training and his impressive performances have caught the eye of both the players and the staff at the club's Carrington base.

Enjoyment

"What has struck everyone is that you can see the enjoyment Robinho has in his day-to-day work," said Hughes. "He has a smile on his face when he comes to training. "Everyone associates him with flicks and back-heels. His general work, though, is very correct. "He has a great understanding of what is needed. That is the skill all top players have. He is a great talent."
Repeat performance
Hughes will be looking for a repeat performance when his side take on Wigan on 28th September after hammering Portsmouth 6-0 in their last Premier League game. And as well as Robinho looking to reclaim his place after the midweek loss, Joe Hart, Micah Richards, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Elano are also likely to feature. On Wigan, the Welshman added: "They are a big, strong, powerful side, who will upset a lot of teams. We do not want that to happen to us. "We set a standard against Portsmouth and need to produce that level again."
