Steve Finnan is happy he swapped Liverpool for Espanyol last summer. The Republic of Ireland international left Anfield after five seasons with the club for La Liga on transfer deadline day. Liverpool snapped up the likes of Philipp Degen over the summer pushing Finnan further down the club's pecking order. "It was definitely time to leave Liverpool," he told the Sunday Times. "It didn't take long to decide. "I spoke to my Spanish colleagues at Liverpool and I also knew Espanyol had been very successful over the past few seasons."
