Former Middlesbrough midfielder happy with Teesside spell
Fabio Rochemback insists he has no regrets about his time in England.
The Brazilian international spent three years at Middlesbrough after leaving Sporting Lisbon, the club he has now returned to.
But despite never quite hitting the levels expected during his time in the Premier League, Rochemback is happy with his spell at the Riverside.
"Despite English football's characteristics, I don't regret signing for Boro," he told
O Jogo.
"It was three years with ups and downs, but such experiences are of great value for every player.
"I learnt a lot on and off the pitch during this time. I went there with the objective of growing as a player and as a person.
"The first year was difficult because I had to settle in and wasn't used to the tactics. It was about long ball and aggressive-style football - something I didn't experience in Brazil, Portugal and Spain.
"At the moment I signed with Middlesbrough, I thought it was the best thing for me. I left Sporting and starting a new experience was important at every level.
"Honestly I don't regret it because I was very happy and people treated me very well."
