Former Bolton man agrees deal with Ipswich

Ipswich have confirmed that Ivan Campo has agreed a deal to join the club. The Spaniard is available on a free transfer following his release from Bolton at the end of last season. He has been linked with a move to Premier League new boys Hull this summer but now looks to be heading to Portman Road. Campo watched Ipswich's friendly with West Ham on Monday night and has since held talks with manager Jim Magilton. He is now expected to be officially confirmed as an Ipswich player early next week. "We have agreed terms with Ivan over a deal and he will be at Portman Road on Monday for a medical," chief executive Derek Bowden told the club's official website. "If everything goes well with that, and we have no reason to believe otherwise, then he will sign." The 34-year-old former Real Madrid man will bring experience to the Ipswich squad and his versatility will also be an asset in the Championship.
