Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored a hat-trick as Ajax moved three points clear at the top of Eredivisie with a comfortable 6-2 victory against struggling Excelsior at the Johan Cruijff Arena.
The 35-year-old took his tally for the season to 14 league goals as Ajax put pressure on second-placed PSV Eindhoven ahead of their home game against De Graafschap on Sunday.
Dusan Tadic scored twice and Kasper Dolberg was also on the score sheet for the Amsterdam side, while Mounir El Hamdaoui and Jeffry Fortes replied for Excelsior.
