Ronaldo can't guarantee future

United winger will see how things pan out in the next fortnight

Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to outright dispel rumours of an exit from Old Trafford. Ronaldo added to his sky-high reputation on Wednesday evening as he netted an excellent header in United's UEFA Champions League success over Chelsea. The Portugal international has been linked with a move away from United, with Real Madrid reportedly lining up a record-breaking £100million bid. And, despite chief executive David Gill insisting Ronaldo will not be leaving in the summer on Wednesday, the 23-year-old has said he will contemplate his future over the next fortnight. "I don't promise anything, I don't promise anything to my mum, I don't promise anything to the supporters," he said. "I want to stay, but the future... no-one knows. I want to stay. We are going to see in the next two weeks, I don't say I make a decision."

Calderon

Meanwhile, Real president Ramon Calderon has refused give up his hunt for the world-class forward. "Players play where they want to. If a player decides to leave a club then he cannot be stopped, the days of player enslavement have gone. Nobody can prevent them from changing clubs," he said. "(Ronaldo) is an extraordinary player. If he makes a firm decision that there is nobody that can keep him back. "I have already said that providing Manchester United want to sell, we will ask about him, and if he wants to come and we can pay what is being asked."
